Second Degree Accelerated BSN
Basic Information: Baylor University is located in Waco, Texas. This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN.
Must Dos: Students must apply to Baylor and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: The "FastBacc Track" is a 12 month program consisting of 62 credit hours. It starts at the beginning of each summer.
Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include 4 Science courses: Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology I, Anatomy & Physiology II, and Chemistry; 3 English courses: English I, English II, and English Literature; 2 Government courses*: Federal Government, and State & Local Government; 2 Religion courses: Bible-based Religion, and World Religion; or Old Testament and New Testament; 1 History course; 1 Nutrition course; 1 Statistics course; 2 Psychology courses: Intro to Psychology, and Developmental Psychology; 1 Sociology course; 2 semesters of same Foreign Language (Spanish recommended); and 2 courses (6 hours) of general electives. Students must have a prerequisite GPA of at least a 2.75. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5.
