Must Dos: Students must apply to California State University Los Angeles and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: Once you are admitted to the School of Nursing, you have 3 years of course work year-round before you are eligible to graduate with a BSN. Most students spend 2 years completing their prerequisites, for a total of 5 years.
Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Anatomy & Physiology, Chemistry, English Composition, Public Speaking, Critical Thinking, Statistics, and Microbiology with Lab. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better and a cumulative science GPA of at least a 2.75 or higher. Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.75 or higher.
Application Information: The application deadline is January 11, 2016 for fall 2016 admission. The application for the College of Nursing can be found here. Applications are accepted based on a point system with a total of 28 points. Prerequisite courses account for 10 points, cumulative GPA accounts for 5 points, TEAS exam accounts for 10 points, and work/health experience accounts for 3 points.
