Georgia State University RN to BSN




 

Basic Information: Georgia State University is located in Atlanta, Georgia. This program is meant for Registered Nurses wanting to obtain their BSN.  Students are required to have either their ADN or RN diploma. 

Must Dos: Students must apply to Georgia State University and the College of Nursing.

Program Length: Three semesters completed over one year.

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include English Composition I/II, Math Modeling or College Algebra, Human Anatomy & Physiology I/II with labs, Elementary Statistics, General Psychology, Microbiology and Public Health with Lab, Abnormal Psychology or its equivalent, US History, American Government, and World History, Global Economics, or Global Affairs.  Students must also take two science classes from the following list: Survey of Chemistry I /II with labs OR Introductory Biology I/II with Labs OR Introductory Physics I/II with labs. Students must complete these classes with a grade of a C or better.  Students must complete all core curriculum classes as outlined here.

Prior Classwork Information: No note of minimum cumulative GPA. Classes must be completed with a C or better.

Admission Tests: Students must take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) before applying to the nursing program. Georgia State University only accepts TEAS version 5.0. International students must take the Georgia State Test of English Proficiency (GSTEP) or the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
