New Mexico State University RN to BSN




 

Basic Information: New Mexico State University is located in Las Cruces, NM.  This program is meant for registered nurses wanting to obtain their BSN.  The majority of programs require that you have your associate's degree in nursing (ADN).

Must Dos: Students must apply to New Mexico State University, send your ACT/SAT scores and college transcripts to them, and show proof of RN license.  Students must first talk with a pre-nursing adviser and then apply to the program.  Students must also be able to complete all coursework online for the program. Students need to have preceptors available in your area for your clinicals.  There is a 2-3 day onsite orientation that is mandatory to attend. 

Program Length: This program is designed to be completed in one year of full-time classes starting at the beginning of each summer. New Mexico State University requires that you have completed 128 credits total with 48 of those as upper division classes in order to graduate. 

Nursing Prerequisites: Students must have an RN license in good standing and satisfy NMSU general education requirements. 

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all prerequisite courses and prior nursing course work.
