Samford University
Second Degree Accelerated BSN
Basic Information: Samford University is located in Birmingham, Alabama. This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN.
Must Dos: Students must apply to Samford University and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: Five semesters starting in the fall. There is a truly accelerated program that runs five semesters straight through and a second degree BSN program that allows students to have summers off.
Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry. All prerequisite courses must be completed within the last five years with a cumulative science GPA of at least a 2.5 or higher. Students must not have retaken more than two of the science courses.
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.7 or higher.
