Basic Information: The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN. 

Must Dos: Apply to the University of Alabama and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: This program lasts five semesters.  It says that students may choose to enroll in a summer semester to "meet requirements."  It sounds like it lasts about two years including one summer for the nursing program.

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Chemistry with Lab, Introduction to Organic Chemistry with Lab, Anatomy & Physiology with Lab I/II, Microbiology with Lab, Microcomputer Applications, Human Development, Human Nutrition, Medical Ethics or regular Ethics, and Statistics.  A list of all classwork is found under the "Prior Classwork Information" section.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must achieve at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA prior to admission to nursing school. You must receive at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA in all required science classes.  The Second Degree Accelerated Program course plan can be found here
