University of Texas at Houston RN to BSN




 

Basic Information: This branch of the University of Texas is located in Houston, Texas.  This program is meant for RNs wishing to gain their BSN.  There is the choice of either completing the program in a classroom based program (one day per week) or mainly online program (occasional classroom meetings).  Summer admissions will have the option of the mainly online program or the classroom program which meets every Wednesday on campus.  Spring admissions only have the classroom program which meets every Wednesday on campus.

Program Length: This program is 3 semesters long for a total of 12 months of courses.

Nursing Prerequisites: To be considered for admission, a student must have earned at least 40 of the prerequisites at the time of application; 8 hours, of those 40 hours, must be from the science prerequisites of Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, or Chemistry.  Students must have a science prerequisite GPA of a 3.0 or better in science prerequisites and an overall GPA of 2.75 or better.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.75 or better.
