Basic Information: Minot State University is located in Minot, North Dakota. The "Admission into the Nursing Major" brochure can be found here. This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: Students must apply to Minot State University and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: Four years long with students applying for the nursing program during their fourth semester.

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include BIOL 202 General Microbiology, BIOL 220 Anatomy & Physiology I, BIOL 221 Anatomy & Physiology II, CHEM 115 Introductory Chemistry, SOC 110 Intro to Sociology, PSY 111 Intro to Psychology, ENG 110 or 120 College Composition I or II, HMS 213 Life Span Growth & Development, NURS 253 Nursing Perspectives, COMM 110 Fund of Public Speaking, HMS 240 Nutrition, Cultural Course (HMS 333, SS 283, Soc 374O. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.75 or higher.

Admission Tests: All students must complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam. International students must complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.
