New Mexico State University BSN




 

Basic Information:  New Mexico State University is located in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: When you have completed your general education requirements, you must apply to New Mexico State University and to the College of Nursing.  Students must talk with a pre-nursing advisor before applying to the nursing program.

Program Length: Eight semesters total. You take nursing classes from semester four to semester eight.

Prerequisites: Courses include English I, College Algebra, Chemistry with Lab, Biology with Lab, Psychology, two Communications classes, Statistics, Anatomy & Physiology I/II with Lab, Nutrition, Human Growth & Behavior, Microbiology, and a Fine Arts class.  All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of a C or better and an overall prerequisite GPA of 3.0 or better.  The printout of the classes you take throughout your BSN can be found here.

Prior Classwork Information:  Students must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
