Basic Information: Norfolk State University is located in Norfolk, Virginia. This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.
Must Dos: Students must apply to Norfolk State University and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: Once admitted to the nursing program, students should complete their BSN in 22 months.
Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Statistics, Pathophysiology, Microbiology with Lab, Anatomy & Physiology I/II with Lab, Nutrition, Human Growth & Development Psychology, College Algebra, Speech, Communication Skills I/II, Introduction to University Life, Writing Competency Exam, Cultural Perspective, (three credits for Social Sciences and three credits for Humanities), Natural Science, Social Science, Humanities, and Digital, Computer & Telecommunications. All courses must be completed with a grade of a C or better.
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.8 or better.
