Basic Information: Salve Regina University is located in Newport, Rhode Island. This program is meant for high school students applying, as well as transfer or second degree students. There is no accelerated BSN program for the second degree students.

Must Dos: Students must apply to Salve Regina University and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: Four years total.

Nursing Prerequisites: Students must achieve a minimum grade of C or Pass in the required courses of anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, psychology, sociology and statistics as well as the nursing courses themselves.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA.

Admission Tests:  In general, a competitive first-year applicant for the nursing program has met the following standards:

  • Successful completion of four years of high school science, including biology, chemistry and an upper-level science such as anatomy and physiology, physics, AP biology or AP chemistry
  • Strong standardized test scores (SAT or ACT)
  • Competitive high school GPA and class rank
  • Application submitted by the Early Action (non-binding) deadline of Nov. 1
