Basic School Information: The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements. Students who have completed at least 32 credits of lower level courses with residence at the University of Alabama will be given preference.

Must Dos: Apply to the University of Alabama and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: This program lasts five semesters.  It says that students may choose to enroll in a summer semester to "meet requirements" and finish in the allotted time. 

Nursing Prerequisites:  Courses include English Composition I/II, Psychology, Chemistry with Lab, Human Development, Introduction to Nursing (optional), Fine Arts, History, Introduction to Organic Chemistry with Lab, Math, Microcomputer Applications, two Literature classes or Literature and History, Human Nutrition, Anatomy & Physiology with Lab I/II, Sociology or Anthropology, Computer Science or Foreign Language, Medical Ethics or regular Ethics, Statistics, and Microbiology with Lab.  A list of all classwork is found below under the "Prior Classwork Information" section.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must receive at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA prior to admission to nursing school.  You must receive at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA in all required science classes. Click here for the BSN program of study
