University of Charleston BSN Nursing School


Basic Information: The University of Charleston is located in Charleston, West Virginia.  This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Charleston and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: Four years long.

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include University Orientation, Freshman Writing I/II, Introduction to Social Science, Microbiology, Mathematics, Introduction to Professional Nursing, The University Experience, Oral Communication Skills, Humanities, Chemistry, Introduction to Ethical Practice, and Life Span Development.  These classes are completed during the freshman year.  Students apply to the nursing program during the end of their freshman year.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better.

Admission Tests: Students must complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam.  International students must complete the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.
