University of Connecticut BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of Connecticut is located in Hartford, Connecticut. This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements. 

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Connecticut and the College of Nursing.

Program Length: This program is a total of eight semesters with the last five focused on nursing care. 

Nursing Prerequisites: High school students must complete four years of English; two years of Algebra; one year of Chemistry with a laboratory; a Physics course either in high school or college;  one year of History; an additional year of History or a Social Science, and two years in a single Foreign Language. The nursing curriculum can be found here to see all university general education requirements that must completed in the first two years of the BSN program.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA upon completion of their first 26 credits.  They must have at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA upon completion of spring semester prior to starting clinicals.

Application Information: The application to the University of Connecticut can be found here.  Applications to the College of Nursing are accepted each year from November 1st to February 1st for admission in the fall semester.
