University of Illinois at Chicago BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of Illinois is located in Chicago, Illinois. Students can specify when they apply as to whether they would like to attend the Chicago or Urbana regional sites for the BSN program.  There is a "Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions" which ensures that freshman applying to University of Illinois Chicago  will have a spot in the nursing program.  They say that the most successful candidates who apply (meaning those who get in) have at least an ACT score of 28 and rank in the top 15% of their class.  Click here for more information. 

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Illinois and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: The nursing program lasts four semesters (over two years).  The nursing program starts in the fall of each year.

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Chemistry with Lab, Organic/Biochemistry with Lab, Anatomy & Physiology I/II with Lab, and Microbiology. Students must have a science GPA of 2.5.  There are also general education courses that must be completed which can be found here

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.75.

Admission Tests: International students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
