University of North Carolina BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of North Carolina is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of North Carolina and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: The nursing program lasts six semesters long and is usually started during the spring semester of sophomore year.  The program starts in May before junior year.  The course plan can be found here

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Psychology, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry I/II, Anatomy & Physiology with Lab, Physiology (listed separate from A&P), and Microbiology.  All general education and prerequisite classes must be completed before starting the program.  Students must complete all classes with a B- or better, with exception of Psychology and Statistics which must be completed with a C or better.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8.
