Second Degree Accelerated BSN
Basic Information: The University of North Carolina is located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This program is for students who have already earned a bachelor's degree in another field and have finished the basic requirements for their BSN.
Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of North Carolina and to the College of Nursing.
Program Length: The second degree program can either be completed in an accelerated format (four semesters) or traditional format (six semesters). The course plan can be found here.
Prerequisites: Courses include Anatomy & Physiology with Lab, Physiology (separately listed from A&P), Microbiology with Lab, Statistics, Psychology, and US Diversity OR Global Issues course. Students must complete all classes with a B- or better, with exception of Psychology and Statistics which must be completed with a C or better.
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 for the six semester track and 3.0 for four semester track.
