University of Tampa BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of Tampa is located in Tampa, Florida.  This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Tampa and to the College of Nursing.

Program Length: The program takes four years total to complete.  Students need 60 general education credits and 65 nursing credits to graduate.

Nursing Prerequisites: Students must complete BIO 183 Microbiology, CHE 150 Chemistry for Healthcare Professionals, FYW 101 Writing and Inquiry, AWR 201 Writing and Research, HSC 230 and 231 Anatomy and Physiology I with lab, HSC 234 and 235 Anatomy and Physiology II with lab, MAT 160 College Algebra or higher, PSY 200 General Psychology, PSY 210 Child Psychology, and SOC 100 Introduction to Sociology.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Admission Tests: If applying as a freshman, students must submit their SAT or ACT scores.  All students must take the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) exam prior to applying to the nursing program.  International students must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam.
