University of Washington BSN
Basic Information: The University of Washington is located in Seattle, Washington. This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.
Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Washington and to the College of Nursing. Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer or paid health care experience in one setting within a period of three months (completed within the prior year).
Program Length: Two years total.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum college-level cumulative GPA of 2.0 (download the BSN GPA Worksheet to see if you are eligible)
- Completion of ninety college quarter credits of prerequisite courses by the time you begin the program, including:
- A minimum of either:
- three Natural World prerequisite courses(general chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, nutrition) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, or
- four Natural World prerequisite courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8
- A minimum of either:
Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
Application Information: The application for the College of Nursing can be found here. BSN program applications are generally available in early October and are due by 5 p.m. on Jan. 16 to begin study the following autumn. Successful applicants for the BSN are notified in April and are expected to accept or decline admission no later than May 15.
