University of Washington BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of Washington is located in Seattle, Washington.  This program is set up for the entry-level freshman wishing to gain their BSN or transfer students who have completed their general education requirements.

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Washington and to the College of Nursing. Students must complete a minimum of 100 hours of volunteer or paid health care experience in one setting within a period of three months (completed within the prior year). 

Program Length: Two years total.

Prerequisites: 

  • Minimum college-level cumulative GPA of 2.0 (download the BSN GPA Worksheet to see if you are eligible)
  • Completion of ninety college quarter credits of prerequisite courses by the time you begin the program, including:
    • A minimum of either:
      • three Natural World prerequisite courses(general chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, nutrition) with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0or
      • four Natural World prerequisite courses with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA.

Application Information: The application for the College of Nursing can be found here.  BSN program applications are generally available in early October and are due by 5 p.m. on Jan. 16 to begin study the following autumn.  Successful applicants for the BSN are notified in April and are expected to accept or decline admission no later than May 15. The application information for the University of Washington can be found here
