University of Wisconsin Eau Claire RN to BSN




 

Basic Information: The University of Wisconsin Eau Claire is located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.  Students must select one of five locations as their RN to BSN program "home" location:  Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Oshkosh.  This program is meant for Registered Nurses wanting to obtain their BSN.  The majority of programs require that you have your associate's degree in nursing (ADN).

Must Dos: Students must apply to the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and to the College of Nursing. Students must complete the following: 

  • Graduated with an associate degree from a nationally accredited ADN Program (e.g. NLN, NLNAC, ACEN) with at least a 2.50 GPA
  • A current Wisconsin R.N. license*
  • Admitted to UWEC in good standing
  • Fill out and submit all materials in admission packet, including the application, application fee, official transcript from associate degree or diploma program, and evidence of WI RN licensure.

Program Length: The length depends on the amount of general education requirements students have completed prior to starting the nursing program. The course plan can be found here

Nursing Prerequisites: Courses include Chemistry, Biochemistry, Anatomy & Physiology I/II, Microbiology, Human Development, and Statistics.  Three of the five science courses must be completed with a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5 or higher. Students must complete at least 30 credits of transferable general education credits.  These must be completed with a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or higher.

Prior Classwork Information: Students must have a cumulative GPA of a 2.5 or higher.
